1. Service description
Continuity Protocol, operated through planbefore.app, provides information and decision-support services for internationally mobile individuals and families. Our services include personalized crisis continuity protocols (one-time delivery) and Sentinel regional intelligence monitoring (monthly subscription).
All services are delivered digitally via email and/or private web access.
2. Advisory only — not professional services
All content, recommendations, protocols, and intelligence provided by Continuity Protocol are advisory only. Our services are:
- Not insurance — we do not provide insurance coverage of any kind in any jurisdiction
- Not evacuation — we do not physically evacuate, transport, or relocate individuals or families
- Not medical advice — we note medication logistics and health considerations, but do not provide medical diagnoses, prescriptions, or treatment recommendations
- Not legal advice — we provide general information about visa and document requirements, but do not offer legal counsel
- Not financial advice — we note payment access and financial continuity logistics, but do not provide financial planning or investment advice
- Not a guarantee of safety, route passability, or accuracy — conditions change rapidly and may differ from available data
Users must independently verify all information before making decisions or taking action. Continuity Protocol supplements, but does not replace, professional advice, embassy guidance, or personal judgment.
3. Accuracy and confidence
We make reasonable efforts to provide accurate and timely information based on available sources. However:
- Geopolitical situations, flight availability, border policies, fuel prices, and infrastructure status can change rapidly and without notice
- Our intelligence draws from public media sources, official advisories, and available data feeds — not classified or guaranteed-accurate sources
- Every recommendation in our protocols carries a confidence label (Confirmed, Likely, or Emerging) indicating our assessment of source reliability
- Sentinel signal monitoring provides indicators and early signals, not certainty of events or outcomes
- A "Confirmed" confidence label means verified from official or primary sources — it does not guarantee real-time accuracy on the ground
We tell you what we know and what we don't. That transparency is core to our service.
4. Limitation of liability
Liability for any recommendation, protocol, signal, or content provided by Continuity Protocol is capped at the fee paid for the specific service.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Continuity Protocol, its operators, contributors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with the use of our services.
We do not guarantee any particular outcome from following our recommendations. Routes may close, borders may change, flights may cancel, and conditions may deteriorate regardless of any protocol or intelligence we provide.
5. User responsibilities
By using our services, you agree that:
- You will independently verify all critical information before acting
- You understand our services are advisory only and do not guarantee safety or outcomes
- You will not rely solely on Continuity Protocol for life-safety decisions
- You will consult appropriate professionals (medical, legal, financial) for matters in those domains
- You will contact your embassy or consulate for official government guidance during crises
- You are responsible for maintaining your own documents, insurance, and emergency preparations
6. Pricing and payments
One-time protocols (Personal, Family, Family+) are single payments. No recurring charges. Protocol is delivered to your email, typically within 24 hours of receiving your completed intake form.
Sentinel is a monthly subscription at the listed price. Your card is charged monthly until you cancel. You may cancel at any time through Stripe or by emailing hello@planbefore.app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers or payment credentials on our systems.
Prices are listed in US dollars (USD) and are subject to change. Changes do not affect existing subscriptions until renewal.
7. Refund policy
One-time protocols: If we are unable to deliver your protocol within 72 hours of receiving your completed intake form, you are entitled to a full refund. Once a protocol has been delivered, refunds are at our discretion.
Sentinel: You may cancel your subscription at any time. We do not offer partial-month refunds. If you are unsatisfied with Sentinel within the first 7 days, contact us at hello@planbefore.app and we will process a full refund of your first month.
8. Data and privacy
We collect personal information through our intake form solely to build your personalized protocol. This includes: name, email, location, family composition, passport information, health logistics, financial access methods, and your stated concerns.
- Your data is used only to prepare your protocol and, for Sentinel subscribers, to filter intelligence relevant to your profile
- We do not sell, share, or trade your personal information with third parties
- We do not store banking passwords, credit card numbers, or payment credentials
- Intake data is transmitted via Formspree (encrypted in transit) and stored in our operational email
- Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe and never touches our systems
- You may request deletion of all your personal data at any time by emailing hello@planbefore.app
We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide your service. For Sentinel subscribers, data is retained for the duration of the subscription plus 30 days after cancellation.
9. Intellectual property
Your personalized protocol is prepared for your personal and household use. You may share it with family members covered by the protocol. You may not resell, redistribute, or publish protocols or Sentinel intelligence publicly.
All website content, design, branding, and service methodology are the property of the service operator.
10. Sentinel-specific terms
Sentinel subscribers receive access to a private intelligence dashboard. This access is:
- Personal — your dashboard link should not be shared publicly or with non-subscribers
- Signal-based — the dashboard surfaces media signals and intelligence indicators, not ground-truth reporting
- Not guaranteed uptime — while we make reasonable efforts to maintain availability, the dashboard may experience interruptions
- Subject to data source availability — signal feeds depend on third-party data sources that may change or become unavailable
Sentinel includes one protocol refresh per month. Additional refreshes may be requested and are subject to availability and response time.
11. Service modifications
We reserve the right to modify, expand, or discontinue any aspect of our services at any time. For Sentinel subscribers, material changes will be communicated via email at least 14 days before taking effect. If you disagree with changes, you may cancel your subscription.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation in the first instance. The service operator is based in Hong Kong.
